National Society Scholarships

Each year NSDAR awards multiple scholarships to students that show dedication to the pursuit of higher education. For help with the application process, contact NCSDAR or a local chapter.

The National Society also awards American Indian scholarships for those students that are of Native American heritage. The requirements and information can be found on the National Society American Indian Scholarships web page.

North Carolina Society Scholarships

The NCSDAR Cordon Street Endowment Gift Scholarship is granted to worthy students entering or enrolled in academically accredited technical schools, community colleges, or universities.

The Lucinda B. Findley History Scholarship is for a college junior or senior who is majoring in general history.

The Mildred H. Showfety Endowment Fund Scholarship is given directly to a graduating student at Crossnore School or Kate Duncan Smith DAR School, for additional costs while pursuing post high school training.

All scholarship applications are due by January 31st and must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a North Carolina chapter. Contact a chapter near you for more information.
