NORTH CAROLINA
State Society
Daughters of the American Revolution
The North Carolina State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NCSDAR) welcomes you! With over 105 chapters and over 7,000 members across the state, there is a chapter in every community willing to help eligible women become members. We are active in many volunteer activities and are proud to make a difference in the lives of our community, state, and country. Our members support historical preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavor.
The North Carolina State Society is part of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) which is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women’s service organization founded in 1890 by a small group of patriotic women who desired to step out of their daily lives to serve the nation and its people. Over 125 years later, the DAR has more than 190,000 members and is growing. There are chapters in all 50 states and several countries abroad. All members have proven their family lineage back to a Patriot of the American Revolution.
